The head of Indonesia's search and rescue agency announced Wednesday that the tail of AirAsia Flight 8501 has been found in the Java Sea.
During a news conference, the chief of the BASARNAS rescue agency told reporters that the tail numbers were visible on the wreckage. Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia, also tweeted that if it was the "right part of tail section then the black box should be there." The plane disappeared on Dec. 28 during bad weather as it traveled from Surabaya to Singapore. --Catherine Garcia
