Several St. Louis Rams players showed their support for protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, on Sunday by coming on to the field with their arms raised in the iconic "Hands up, don't shoot" pose.

Witnesses claimed Michael Brown had his hands in the air when he was fatally shot by a white police officer, Darren Wilson, and demonstrators adopted the pose as a powerful symbol of nonviolent protest. The Rams home game Sunday was their first since a grand jury last week decided not to indict Wilson over Brown's death.
