Gov. Pat Quinn (D) has officially conceded the Illinois gubernatorial race to Republican challenger Bruce Rauner, he announced in a press conference. "It's clear that we do not have the votes to win the election," the incumbent said.
Despite the early projections that he had lost to Rauner, Gov. Quinn refused to concede Tuesday night, saying he didn't "believe in throwing in the towel if that many votes are being counted." But with 99 percent of precincts reporting Wednesday, Rauner had 51 percent of the vote to Quinn's 46 percent.
