Renée Zellweger responds to critics: Talking about my looks is 'silly'

In response to the "silly" think pieces and comments online accusing her of undergoing plastic surgery, actress Renée Zellweger shared that in a way, she's actually happy with the response.

"I'm glad folks think I look different!" she told People late Tuesday night. "I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."

Zellweger, 45, has stayed out of the spotlight for some time, and when she appeared at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards on Monday looking a bit different than she used to, the rumors began to fly. Zellweger said she only commented on the chatter because otherwise, "the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door."

Zellweger further explained to People that for a long time, she wasn't giving herself enough time to rest, and "kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion." But now, she says, she is taking better care of herself and is happy with her boyfriend, Doyle Bramhall. "My friends say that I look peaceful," she said. "I am healthy."
