North Korea frees one of three American prisoners

North Korea has released Jeffrey Fowle, one of three American prisoners held by the Hermit Kingdom, the State Department said Tuesday.

The White House had been trying for months to secure the release of Fowle and two other American prisoners, Matthew Miller and Kenneth Bae. Last month, North Korea sentenced Miller to six years of hard labor for allegedly committing "hostile acts" against the country.
