A patient being monitored for Ebola at Washington, D.C.'s Howard University Hospital does not have the virus, reports The Washington Post.
"Howard University Hospital in conjunction with the District of Columbia Department of Health and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has 'ruled out' Ebola for the patient," Kerry-Ann Hamilton, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said on Saturday.
The patient arrived at Howard University early Friday morning, "presenting symptoms that could be associated with Ebola," following a recent return from Nigeria. While the Ebola virus continues to plague several West African nations, the Nigerian outbreak may be under control, as the CDC reported earlier this week that the country had not had any new cases since Aug. 31.
