Pennsylvania state police say one trooper was killed and another injured in a Friday-night ambush outside a state police barracks, The Associated Press reports. The shooting reportedly took place during a shift change at Pike County's Blooming Grove barracks, and officials said the suspect or suspects appear to have targeted the state police.
A search is underway for the shooter or shooters.
**Update: A Pennsylvania state police spokeswoman said officials have identified a person of interest in the shooting, Jeffrey Hudak, and that he is being interviewed, although he has not been charged with a crime. The trooper injured in Friday night's shooting is reportedly in stable condition at a Scranton hospital.
