Esteemed Canadian political theorist Mike Tyson made a bold statement on Tuesday, calling Rob Ford the "best mayor in Toronto history."
Tyson was in town for his one-man show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, and stopped by City Hall to meet with the beleaguered mayor, who gained international attention when he admitted to smoking crack in a "drunken stupor." Tyson defended Ford, saying he appreciated Ford's willingness to address his problems. "He has a troubled past because he has 24-hour surveillance of the press," Tyson said. "Do you prefer him to be a guy who's clean cut but behind the doors you never know what he's doing?"
Ford said he "idolized" and "respected" Tyson, and that "we're cut from the same cloth, there's no nonsense." Watch the new BFFs take on the media below. --Catherine Garcia
