This is what Amazon's first smartphone looks like

After entering the tablet and set-top TV markets, Amazon is on to an even bigger tech feat: releasing its own smartphone.

Rumors about the Amazon smartphone have been circling for years, and Amazon is finally setting the record straight. At a "device unveiling" event in Seattle this afternoon, Amazon released details about its upcoming smartphone.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon's CEO, opened the event by showing videos and tweets from fans of the Kindle and Amazon Prime before moving on to the details of Amazon's "Fire Phone." Engadget reports that the device is equipped with a rear-facing camera and a 4.7-inch screen.
