Call it good old fashioned click bait — or the celebritization of politics — but the Daily Mail has picked up on some subtle hints that famed actress Angelina Jolie might someday run for political office:

She told Good Morning America: "You know, if I thought I'd be effective, I would."

"But I'm not sure if I would ever be taken seriously in that way, and be able to be effective." [Daily Mail]

After an actor named Ronald Reagan was elected president, the left become somewhat obsessed with the notion that someone like Paul Newman or Warren Beatty could do it, too. That hasn't really panned out.

But then there's Angelina Jolie. Like her or not, Jolie is part of an elite category of A-list celebrities who, like George Clooney and U2's Bono, have shown consistent devotion to important causes.
