Newsweek has returned to print with a potentially huge scoop. The magazine claims it has unmasked the reclusive founder of Bitcoin, the highly volatile digital currency. The inventor is allegedly 64-year-old Satoshi Nakamoto, a Japanese American who resides in Southern California. Nakamoto's livelihood is just as shadowy as the money he's created — his career described as "shrouded in secrecy," and he's done "classified work for major corporations and the U.S. military." Nakamoto has reportedly even managed to keep his role in Bitcoin's creation a secret from his family.
Nakamoto told Newsweek he's no longer involved with Bitcoin, and that the operation has been turned over to "other people." It's estimated that Nakamoto owns an estimated $400 million worth of Bitcoins. You can read the full profile at Newsweek.
