Teletubbies creator is 'a bit sad' about the show's remake

Anne Wood, creator of the 1990s children's show Teletubbies, isn't thrilled the show is being remade.
"I'm a bit sad," Wood, 77, told Radio Times. "It comes down to the times we're in: People feel safer remaking hits of the past, rather than investing in something new."
Wood added that she won't be watching the new show, saying it "would be like seeing a child remade in somebody else's image."

The original Teletubbies ran from 1997 to 2001 on the BBC. Wood sold the rights to the show in 2013 to help fund her new projects.
