At least 54 people were killed in a string of suicide bomb attacks on Saturday in the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri, The Associated Press reports.
Maiduguri is the birthplace of extremist group Boko Haram. Militants from the group have attacked the city many times in the past. Saturday's attacks were carried out over a four-hour window, in several locations including a fish market and a bus station, Maiduguri's police commissioner said.
