Jury finds Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty on multiple Boston Bombing charges

Defense rests in Boston Marathon bombing trial

After a relatively short 11 hours of deliberation, the jury in the Boston bombing trial found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty of carrying out the 2013 bombings at the Boston Marathon, which killed three people and wounded over 240. Tsarnaev was found guilty of all 30 charges against him, 17 of which carry the death penalty.

Before the jury announced the verdict, Tsarnaev's lawyers admitted that he was involved in the bombings, though they tried to convince the jury that his brother Tamerlan persuaded him to become involved. The trial will now move into a second phase, in which the jury will decide whether Tsarnaev will face the death penalty or a life in prison.
