At the Escape Room in Los Angeles, and places like it across the U.S., groups of people pay to get locked in a room, using clues and teamwork to find their way out. On Thursday's Conan, host Conan O'Brien and his producer Jordan Schlansky tried their hand in a 1940's detective-themed room. "He's sort of the Spock to my Kirk," Conan says of Schlanksy, and in period costume, they play out those roles. Schlansky diligently tries to solve the puzzles, O'Brien mostly mugs for the camera, and they finally work out a solution... involving a bribe to their in-room "secretary" (Conan's contribution). Lesson: If you go to one of these escape rooms, bring cash. Also, if you go to Conan's detective room, don't open the filing cabinet. —Peter Weber
