A bomb attack against a vehicle carrying workers to a United Nations compound in Somalia killed seven Somali guards and two Kenyans on Monday.
Authorities believe that al Shabaab militants are behind the bombing in the Puntland region, Reuters reports. Six bystanders were injured in the attack, which shattered the vehicle's windows and blew off its roof. Nicholas Kay, the U.N. Special Representative for Somalia, said he was "shocked and appalled by the loss of life."
