Protesters lingered on the streets of Baltimore after curfew started at 10 p.m. Tuesday night, including a large group of demonstrators at the intersection of North and Pennsylvania avenues.

Police say that the protesters were acting "aggressive," throwing items at officers. In some areas of Baltimore, CBS News reports, members of the crowd threw smoke canisters and water bottles at officers, who deflected them with their shields. At some locations, police projected pepper balls — pellets of pure hot pepper — as they slowly advanced in lines, NBC News reports.
