8-year-old discovers loaded Glock in John Boehner's bathroom
Call it the curious case of the forgetful poopers: People have been leaving behind loaded handguns in bathrooms all around Capitol Hill. There have been three such reported incidents — including one in which an 8-year-old tourist discovered a Glock in House Speaker John's Boehner's bathroom — according to Roll Call. And the answer is basically that the butler did it.
All three instances were allegedly the fault of Capitol Hill police, "the department charged with protecting one of the world's most important and frequently visited complexes," Roll Call says. In the case of John Boehner's bathroom, a member of his security detail allegedly left behind the firearm. An officer assigned to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was the reported perpetrator of the second instance. And the third? Well, let's just say don't go into the restroom at Capitol Hill police HQ.
