The Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly passed a bill that would give Congress oversight of any final nuclear deal negotiated between the U.S., Iran, and six world powers. The bill passed by a 98-1 vote.

The bill would grant lawmakers a 30-day window to review the full text of a comprehensive nuclear deal, and allow them to vote on whether to lift sanctions on Iran. Though the White House initially opposed the legislation, it reversed course after Democrats secured a mildly watered down version of the bill and lent it broad bipartisan support.
