A spokesperson for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) announced Friday that he will declare his 2016 presidential intentions on June 4.
The statement comes after Perry's wife, Anita, tweeted on Friday that the couple has been "discussing the future of this great country and how our family can play a role."
Perry, 65, is advertising the event in downtown Dallas as a "special announcement," and The Washington Post says the likelihood that Perry uses the event to announce his second presidential run is "all but guaranteed."
