Starting in July, Twitter users will no longer be hindered by a 140-character limit when it comes to direct messages.

The company's DM product manager, Sachin Agarwal, promises this won't change any other aspects of Twitter, writing, "Tweets will continue to be the 140 characters they are today." It will make messaging easier for customer service representatives who need to share more information as well as people who like to communicate by using full sentences. The news comes a few months after Twitter gave users the option to let anyone initiate a DM, not just followers.
