Bush campaign selects New York Jets owner to be finance chairman

The Bush campaign announced Wednesday morning that Woody Johnson, a top Republican fundraiser who is the heir to the Johnson & Johnson empire and the owner of the New York Jets, will be joining their team as national finance chair. Johnson was a top fundraiser for the last three Republican presidential nominees and is considered one of the party's top fundraisers because of his ability to convene both Wall Street financiers and the country's wealthiest, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Johnson's talents are good news for Jeb Bush as he desperately tries to reach his goal of raising $5 million before the end of this month. Johnson, who also supported Bush's brother George W. Bush, first announced his support for Bush in the Republican presidential primary back in February. Jack Oliver, a senior adviser to Barclays and a top fundraiser in past presidential campaigns, will serve as finance co-chairman.
