From their very first question, the Fox News moderators at the first Republican debate went after Donald Trump. In this exchange, they had some questions about the candidate's spotty business record, which includes several bankruptcies. Trump, though, was having none of it, pointing out that bankruptcy proceedings are pretty commonplace in the business world.
Trump also chided moderator Chris Wallace for showing such empathy for Trump's creditors, saying, "These lenders are not babies. They are total killers."
He also managed to turn the question into an attack on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, claiming, "Every company in Atlantic City went bankrupt... Chris can tell you." But happily enough, Trump himself made out alright. "I made a lot of money in Atlantic City," he said.
