iPhone users, rejoice: Future batteries might last an entire week
The choice between sending one last drunken snap and preserving the remaining 4 percent of battery life for the walk home is tough. Except for those who faithfully carry chargers everywhere and somehow never misplace them, the iPhone's battery presents a constant struggle.
But it may not always be that way. Apple is working with the British tech company Intelligent Energy to make a phone battery capable of running a week on a single charge, Forbes reports. The battery, which Intelligent Energy already uses in another product, makes electricity by mixing hydrogen and oxygen and releasing the resulting vapor.
Like all good things, there's a catch. The battery must stay ventilated to work properly, so something as ordinary as putting the phone in a bag or pocket could pose a major problem. The iPhones might also get too heavy to lug around.
