An actor participating in a gunfight reenactment in Tombstone, Arizona, was shot when live rounds were used instead of blanks.

Ken Curtis was flown to a Tucson hospital, where he is having surgery to remove a bullet, The Associated Press reports. One bystander was also hit, and his or her condition is unknown. The Tombstone Marshal's Office says Mayor Dusty Escapule has asked the Tombstone Vigilante group to wait until an investigation into the incident is finished before putting on another gunfight skit. Tombstone is a popular tourist destination for people interested in the Old West.
