Bernie Sanders sharply called out Hillary Clinton in Iowa

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders might be changing his tune on frontrunner Hillary Clinton. At the Oct. 13 debate, he notably backed the former secretary of state by arguing that voters don't want to hear more about her "damn emails." But alongside Clinton at an Iowa rally on Saturday, Sanders took a harsher tone in criticizing Clinton, even if he didn't mention her by name, Politico reports.
The independent senator from Vermont blasted Clinton for being slow to support same-sex marriage and slow to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership and Keystone pipeline, setting up a contrast to his own voting record.
"Let us remember that support for gay rights back in 1996 was not what it is today," Sanders said, alluding to Clinton's then-support for the Defense of Marriage Act.

In her speech to Iowa voters, Clinton suggested Sanders' debate comment that both sides need to stop "shouting" about gun control was a sexist dig at her. On Sunday, Sanders laughed openly at the accusation, telling CNN's Jake Tapper he's proud of his record on women's issues.
