Ricky Gervais will host the 2016 Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Monday.

The British comedian helmed the ceremony from 2010 to 2012. After his 2011 gig, then-HFPA President Phillip Berk said some of his comments had "crossed the line." The next year, Gervais suggested he'd never host the Globes again. But in a 2014 blog post he mentioned reconsidering that stance, and in 2015 he served as a presenter.

HFPA's current president, Lorenzo Soria, spun Gervais' brand of humor in a decidedly more positive light than Berk, praising his "off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm," on Monday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
