Romania's government declared a three-day national mourning period after a fire in a Romanian nightclub killed at least 27 people and injured 184 during a rock concert late Friday in the nation's capital, Reuters reports.
The death toll may rise, and 146 people are still hospitalized, said Raed Arafat, Romania's deputy interior minister.
The crowd of 400 stampeded toward the Bucharest basement club's exit when a pillar and the ceiling caught fire, and then an explosion was heard, witnesses said. The concert reportedly featured fireworks.
