A British Airways flight en route from London to Boston's Logan International Airport was forced to restrain a "disturbed and unruly" passenger after she tried to open the exit door midway through the flight, ABC reports. The incident caused the flight to trigger a level 2 alert, signaling there was violence onboard.
The airplane landed safely in Boston and was met on the ground by Massachusetts State Police. Early reports said the passenger had tried to get into the cockpit, but those were denied by a spokesperson for the airline.
"Our customers and crew deserve to have a safe and enjoyable flight and we do not tolerate abusive behavior," the spokesperson said.
