Trump is ahead by 17 points in the first post-debate South Carolina poll
Donald Trump may have gotten booed at Saturday's Republican presidential debate in South Carolina, but a new poll out Tuesday reveals that incident didn't hurt his standing in the Palmetto State one bit. The first post-debate poll by Public Policy Polling reveals Trump remains solidly in first place in South Carolina, with 35 percent support and a 17-point lead over the rest of the GOP field less than a week ahead of the state's Republican primary.
Tied for second are Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) with 18 percent apiece. Ohio Gov. John Kasich comes next with 10 percent, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 7 percent each.
The poll, taken on Feb. 14 and 15, has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
