Reporter Brahm Resnick's interview with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Thursday for NBC's local affiliate in Flagstaff, Arizona, took an unexpected turn when the Democratic presidential candidate seemingly walked out on Resnick mid-question.
Everything started as usual. Sanders answered Resnick's question about a confrontation between his wife and Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, describing it as an "outrage." "The fact that he crashed her meeting is, to me, very, very wrong, not something he should have done," Sanders said of Arpaio's impromptu stop-in on his wife's visit to a "tent city" and the sheriff's lack of answers to his wife's questions about racial profiling and inequality.

The Vermont senator later said that Resnick had simply run over on time. "Sanders said my allotted four minutes were up and so he walked away," Resnick said, noting that Sanders was "the first candidate who's ever walked away."
