ISIS has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium, Tuesday, Reuters reports. The Islamic State's official news agency released a statement online hours after explosions rocked Belgium's Zaventem airport in Brussels and a metro station near the EU buildings in central Brussels, confirming that ISIS fighters had "carried out a series of bombings with explosive belts and devices" because Belgium is "participating in the coalition against the Islamic State."

At least 34 are reported dead. The attack comes days after Belgian police arrested Salah Abdeslam, the only known surviving suspected attacker from the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris.
