Donald Trump says if he is elected president, he expects taxes for the wealthy to go up.
During an interview Sunday on This Week, the presumptive Republican nominee said his tax plan is just a starting point for Congress. "On my plan they're going down," he said of taxes. "But by the time it's negotiated, they'll go up. We're going to submit the optimum. That's what I'd like to get and we'll fight for it. But from a practical standpoint, it's going to get renegotiated. And in my opinion, the taxes for the rich will go up somewhat."
Trump said he will "fight like hell" for tax cuts for the middle class and businesses, and he is personally willing to pay higher taxes. "And you know what? Wealthy are willing to pay more," he said. "We've had a very good run."
