Two Belgian police injured by machete attacker shouting 'Allahu Akbar'
Two police officers in Charleroi, Belgium, were injured by a machete-wielding attacker on Saturday. The local police department tweeted that the suspect was "shouting Allahu Akbar" and was shot by police. French state broadcaster VTM later reported the attacker died from his gunshot wounds.
"I condemn strongly the attack in Charleroi," said Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel in a tweeted statement Saturday afternoon. "My thoughts are with the victims, their relatives and police officers."
