Karl Lagerfeld says Kim Kardashian is 'too public,' shouldn't be surprised she was robbed
Karl Lagerfeld doesn't have much sympathy for Kim Kardashian West, who was tied up and robbed of $10 million worth of items, primarily jewelry, Sunday in Paris.
The head designer and creative director of Chanel told The Associated Press on Tuesday Kardashian West doesn't keep her wealth or bling under wraps, making her "too public, too public — we have to see in what time we live. You cannot display your wealth then be surprised that some people want to share it." Lagerfeld also said he doesn't understand why she didn't have a security detail protecting her and the baubles: "If you are that famous and you put all your jewelry on the net you go to hotels where nobody can come near to the room."
His harsh remarks about Kardashian West are somewhat surprising, as Lagerfeld is close with her model younger sister, Kendall Jenner, but this is also the man who once said, "I hate intellectual conversation with intellectuals because I only care about my opinion," so, yeah.
