Malaysian cows may soon munch to the sounds of the Koran — if a government official has his way.
Farmers should recite the Koran to their cows to improve the quality of their beef, a senior official in the conservative Malaysian state of Kelantan suggested Thursday, per AFP. It's not something the government would mandate by law, per se, but he's hoping farmers will scoop up the idea, AFP reported.
His reasoning? Reading the Koran is relaxing for people, so it's probably relaxing for cows too. And calm cows make better beef.
