Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens resigns amid scandal
Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens (R) announced Tuesday that he is resigning, effective Friday at 5 p.m.
Greitens, a former Navy SEAL, was elected in 2016. His former hairdresser has accused him of non-consensual sexual activity and violence while they were having an extramarital affair, and he was indicted in April on a felony charge of computer tampering connected to his campaign's alleged use of a charity donor list. "I am not perfect, but I have not broken any laws," Greitens said. He did not take any questions from reporters. Under Missouri state law, Lt. Gov. Mike Parson (R) will take over as governor.
