Veep creator Armando Iannucci pitched a Trump comedy on Twitter, and now it might really happen

Life under the Trump administration has oft been compared to an episode of Veep, and now the HBO show's creator might actually make a comedy about the 45th president.
Earlier this week, Veep creator Armando Iannucci tweeted his idea for a movie in which Trump is moved to a replica White House where, with the help of professional actors, he's made to believe that he's still the president when in reality he's been replaced by someone else. Although he was just joking around, he later tweeted, "Er ... looks like Hollywood’s interested. Now what do we do?"
Deadline is now reporting that eight studios have already expressed interest in making the movie for real, with Iannucci receiving at least one "big offer." Iannucci is evidently considering the title "Fake America Great Again," as suggested by one of his Twitter followers.

Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who will play Selina Meyer for the last time in 2019, signaled her support for the flick, tweeting to Iannucci, "I'm in."
If this project truly does happen, it would be the first major scripted film made about the Trump White House, and it would be Iannucci's follow-up to the 2018 political satire The Death of Stalin.
