Democrats will flip the House, Fox News and NBC News project.
Fox News made an early projection in Democrats' favor around 9:30 p.m., and NBC News followed up an hour later. Democrats needed to take 23 GOP seats to gain control of the House, and had won at least 10 before these overall projections surfaced. Republicans are projected to retain the Senate.
President Trump would not be changing his agenda if Democrats won the House, but he is willing to work with the opposition on some legislation, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said earlier. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has said she'll pursue a return as House speaker, but faces opposition from some in her caucus.
