Kellyanne Conway says if House Democrats investigate Trump, it's 'at their own peril'

Now that Democrats have gained control of the House of Representatives, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway is preemptively accusing them of hypocrisy.
Conway told Fox & Friends Wednesday morning that she predicts a "tale of two Democratic parties" will now take shape. What she means is that on the one hand, Democrats will want to work with President Trump and "unify," but on the other hand, there will be "subpoenas and investigations."
Democrats are reportedly looking to use their new House majority to obtain Trump's tax returns, although Conway told Fox that "somehow" this didn't come up during Trump's call with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) last night. She also said that if Democrats investigate Trump, it will be "at their own peril," suggesting there's not much of an "appetite" for this in swing districts.

Still, Conway said she's optimistic the president will be able to work with Democrats, citing bipartisan measures like a recently-passed bill dealing with the opioid crisis. She also cited Trump's attempt to make a deal on DACA to obtain funding for his border wall; Conway brought this example up during a subsequent interview with CNN, during which she added that if Democrats "want to bring Washington to a grinding halt, they don't understand President Trump."
