Joy Behar: Sharron Angle is 'going to hell'

Was "The View" co-host's impassioned reaction to a controversial Angle campaign ad a sincere response — or a shock tactic?

The video: Never ones to shy away from a "hot topic," the ladies of "The View" had a heated discussion about a controversial campaign ad from Nevada's Republican Senate candidate, Sharron Angle. Some have called the Angle ad, which unfavorably portrays illegal immigrants, "the most overtly racist" of 2010. (Watch it here.) "View" co-host Joy Behar equated the spot with "a Hitler youth commercial" and called Angle a "bitch," saying "she's going to hell."

The reaction: Both Angle and Behar are trotting out shocking stereotypes to entertain and "manipulate their audiences," says Adam Hanft at Salon. "We deserve better...." Angle's ad is admittedly "questionable," says Andrew Zarowny at Right Pundits, but Behar's "Liberal-Loon" reaction "crossed a line." If so, says Mark Hemingway in the Washington Examiner, it's certainly helping Angle. "I just got off the phone with someone from Sharron Angle’s senate campaign in Nevada," and "they informed me they had a banner day fundraising [yesterday], pulling in $137,000." Coincidence? I think not. Watch Behar's reaction:
