The Supreme Court began its new term on Monday, setting the stage for potentially important decisions on everything from free speech to immigration. For the first time, the high court will have three women on the bench — justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and the newly confirmed Elena Kagan, who replaces the retired leader of the court's liberal bloc, John Paul Stevens.
