Much of President Donald Trump's second term in office has been spent celebrating and enforcing conservative interpretations of contemporary gender roles. From regularly portraying himself on social media as a paragon of hypermasculinity to conspicuously lashing out at women journalists who question him, the president has, through his own actions, continued to thrust gender and his understanding thereof into the national limelight.
Trump's attitude toward women and their proximity to power has become a through line connecting his current administration to any number of his past projects. While his "Access Hollywood" comments are perhaps the most infamous of all his musings, Trump has spent decades speaking on the record about — and to — the women in his life. Here is what he has said.
