Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) announced Tuesday that he will be voting against the nuclear deal the U.S. and other world powers hammered out with Iran, making him the second Senate Democrat to break with the White House on the pact. Earlier this month, the Senate's third-ranking Democrat, Sen. Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), announced his opposition.

Although Menedez's opposition was expected, his opposition "strikes another blow to the administration's efforts to rally support for the deal," The Hill reports. Congress is set to vote on the deal in September; Republicans now only need four more Democratic defections to pass a resolution against the deal, though they need far more to override a veto from President Obama.
