When Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday recounted the internal White House debate over the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, his story sounded a lot different than the one he had previously told. The veep said that, actually, he had encouraged President Obama to launch the raid. "We walked out of the room and walked up stairs," Biden said. "I told him my opinion: I thought he should go, but to follow his own instincts."

In 2012, The New York Times reported that Biden told Obama: "Mr. President, my suggestion is, don't go." Time reports that Obama also recounted Biden having doubts about the raid.
