The flight data recorder has been recovered from the wreckage of EgyptAir 804, just a day after the recovery of the plane's cockpit voice recorder, CNN reports. While the flight data recorder was damaged, Egypt's Civil Aviation Accident Investigation Committee said they were successful in recovering the memory unit.

Flight data recorders track technical information from the plane's sensors, such as air speed, the position of the wings, and the performance of the engine. Investigators are still unsure what caused the Airbus A320 to crash into the Mediterranean Sea in route from Paris to Cairo last May, but terrorism is strongly suspected. All 66 people on board died in the crash.
