Speaking with CNN's Chris Cuomo in an interview airing Sunday morning, Democrat Hillary Clinton said that Republican Donald Trump's foreign policy is uninformed "phony strength."
"Unfortunately, what Donald Trump has done is made our job harder, and given a lot of aid and comfort to [Islamic State] operatives" by playing into the terrorist organization's clash of civilizations paradigm, she argued. When Cuomo countered with the suggestion that Trump's rhetoric is perceived as strength, Clinton pushed back. "There's phony strength and there's real strength," she said, "and it's phony strength to not know what you're talking about and to make outrageous statements that will actually make our job harder."
