It’s been a busy week for global diplomacy, with the US hailing its brokering of a deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel as “historic” - despite a number of experts expressing some scepticism about the terms of the accord.

And Belarus kept Europe in the headlines, with protests erupting across the country following a highly controversial election in which the unfancied incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko extended his long reign amid allegations of voter fraud.
