Google searches for 'how can I move?' up by 1,500 per cent, while LA plans a 1,000ft-high slide
Our pick of the strange but true stories from around the world.
Super Tuesday has Americans looking north
Donald Trump was delighted by the Super Tuesday primaries but not all his fellow countrymen feel the same way, according to Google. The number of Americans searching online for variations of "how can I move to Canada?" rose 1,500 per cent at one point as the businessman tightened his grip on the Republican race. Searches spiked each time he won another state.

Glass slide planned for LA tower
Developers of the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles have unveiled plans to include a 36ft glass slide on the outside of the building, 1,000ft above the city's streets. Those brave enough to give it a go will be able to travel between the building's 70th and 69th floors with nothing but 1.25in glass between them and oblivion. A ride will cost about $10 (£7).
Man breaks into shop to pay for cigarettes
Trying to be a good citizen has ended in, at best, a partial success for a man in New Mexico. Ellis C Battista allegedly broke down the door of a closed convenience store and then left $6 for a packet of cigarettes – holding up the money to show the store's security cameras before leaving his payment on the counter. Police say he was "believed to be intoxicated at the time". The cost of the damage to the door was estimated at $800 (£570).
