The real left-field choice, Hiddleston has come into favour after issuing his "come and get me" plea in The Sunday Times. Following his Bondesque portrayal of a spy with a taste for violence in The Night Manager, he talked up his ambitions in relation to the role, telling the newspaper: "I'm very aware of the physicality of the [Bond] job. I would not take it lightly." He's even played a caricature of the smooth spy in a series of Jaguar adverts.
